Meet the Barihos

Lambert and Catherine Bariho are called to restore the brokenhearted in Rwanda through discipleship, teaching and prayer (Isaiah 61:1-3)

Our Story

Lambert was born and raised in Rwanda, and after coming to Christ in 1998, and being discipled through the local university student ministry, his passion has been to teach people the truth of the Word of God, which sets people free.

Catherine was born and raised in the USA and received Christ as a young child. As a young adult, she served for several years in music and intercession ministry, always with a heart to see people being restored to serve the Lord and fulfill their calling.

After meeting in Kenya on a mission trip back in 2012, they got married in December 2013 and began serving the people of Rwanda together in discipleship, teaching and prayer.

They have a daughter, Daviella, and a son, Ethan, who have added to their joy in serving the people of Rwanda.

What do we do?

Our various activities aim at creating space for people to encounter the love of God and His life-giving truth that sets them free (John 8:31-33). We offer 2-day healing retreats, monthly healing services, various courses, 12 Day schools and conferences in various churches, ministries and communities. We are also involved in a community orchestra and discipleship and preaching programs with various churches and ministries.

Why do we do what we do?

We believe that God has created every person for a purpose (Ephesians 2:10, Psalm 139:19), but as a result of various life circumstances that bring hurt and pain, many people struggle to live life as God intended. This is true everywhere, but especially in Rwanda, where the nation is still recovering from the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. During this dark period, over one million people were killed in a period of 100 days.

Our desire is to see everyone restored and flourishing in their God given destiny (Isaiah 61:1-3). We work, alongside our local team at Ellel Ministries Rwanda, to restore the brokenhearted in Rwanda, through discipleship, teaching and prayer. We provide opportunities for people to find healing and restoration through the cross of Jesus, and for them to be equipped to help others.
